Re my problem concerning VS7 freezing after a few seconds of use as described in post
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58720
The above post dated the 15th also refers to the same problem, which some how did not show itself again after happening when I mentioned it originally in the post of 7 feb until the 15th.The 7 feb post address is in the above URL.
This issue is not connected to the windows update thing,VS opens ok but then freezes and the first time it happened was before the update was out.
My situation now is that I am not able to use VS7 and do not know how to overcome the problem. I am wondering if an upgrade to Windows 10 and VSX9 is my only solution or will upgrading either or both of them just carry the problem over.
Are Windows 10 & VSX9 my answer to this problem

Well although X9 may get round your freezing problem Ken Berry has just reported that an update to Windows 10 is causing him problems with Videostudio - so I'm a little reticent to say yes to your question at the moment

Hi Kenneth
I replied to your other post regarding uninstalling windows updates.
I think your pc may be re-installing the updates automatically.
In case you do not see that post I also sent details to your personal e-mail address.

Re: Are Windows 10 & VSX9 my answer to this problem
Regarding what Brian has said, there was a Win 10 update a day or so ago. After that, my X9 64 bit will not play swf files. I can find and insert them into the timeline and they show as blank. If I try to open an Instant Project which contains an swf, I get the message that the project is already open elsewhere, which it isn't. And FastFlick crashes when I try to open a project containing an swf, though the others work fine. The same things happen in VS X8.5.
I reported this to the developers but have not heard back. Since I don't normally use either swf files or FastFlick, I am not unduly concerned since all other aspects of X9 and X8.5 continue to work fine.

As , like Ken B.I am not too worried about swf or FastFlick- does that mean I am a bit nearer to a possible solution to my freezing problem by getting VX9 and Windows 10 so that I can actually use Video Studio Can I use VSX9 on my Windows 7 Pro PC without getting Windows 10.?

For me, VS X9 works just fine on W7. I have not done any Windows updates And I will not upgrade to W10 since it offers nothing new for me.

Re: Are Windows 10 & VSX9 my answer to this problem
I'm with çanuck on this, I have VS8.5 and VSX9 working perfectly on Win 7, I do not apply any Windows updates when released, I always wait to see what issues are reported then select which updates I want to install. I can see no possible reason to update to Win 10 at this time and the more I hear about issues with Win 10 the more my resolve to stay with Win 7.
