VideoStudio Pro will no longer open at all

Post by babydoll »

So, I was publishing quite a long movie on my VideoStudio Pro X7 last week. It was nearly 30 minutes long and about 2/3 in I got the Blue Screen o' Death! OK I figured the long buffer just overheated my laptop (which is a double processor so perfectly capable of handling movie editing up until now) so I reset and let it cool off and decided to give it a rest from that large file.

A few days later I went to go into VSP to make a small 2 minute project which wouldn't take very long at all. But when I went to open the program I got this:

"Corel Video Studio Pro X7 Has Stopped Working"

Problem signature:

Now absolutely nothing I try will let me back into the program. Here's what I have already tried:
- Uninstalling the program, rebooting and then reinstalling - same error
- Uninstalling again, this time installing the trial for VSP X8 - same error
- Disabling the DEP - same error
- Tried opening the program in Safe Mode - same error

I have a certain amount of technical know-how, if you give me clear instructions on something to try I can definitely try that. But I'm shooting my showreel next week and desperately need this software to edit it. For my small project last week I ended up using WMM (which obviously sucks) and because I'm using Windows 7 the program crashed every 2 minutes and it took hours to make a simple project!! I need my VSP back and ASAP!

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite Laptop
Processor: IntelR) Core(TM) i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30GHz
8GB RAM
64 bit operating system
Windows 7 Home Premium

Please help me I will try anything!

Thanks and if anyone reading this is also having the same problem, uninstalling the 2 updates that were suggested on the other thread worked for me!

So do the same thing to fix the problem - remove the 2 updates
