Hi All,
Somehow some clips that I took and uploaded to Youtube are now missing from my computer and I thought I had backups but I don't. So I tried to download a Youtube clip I posted (so no copyright issues) using ClipGrab and put it in a VS video I'm making. It shows up on my desktop as an MP4 file, and I can play the video (outside of VS) with no problems. Unfortunately, though, when I try to open it in VS X8, I get a "file format mismatch" error message, 1803:1:3. This is what the file looks like when I try to open it in VS: CHS Varsity at JFK HS, Oct. 12, 2015.mp4.lnk.
I'm running Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron 3847.
Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
Martin

If this is the file "CHS Varsity at JFK HS, Oct. 12, 2015.mp4.lnk" you are trying to load into VS, then it will not work since that filename is a link file. You have to add the actual video file which would not have the "lnk" as an extension

Thanks. My computer says the file I converted from Youtube using ClipGrab is an MP4 file (no "lnk") but when I open it in VS, it has the lnk. When I delete the "lnk," I get an error message: unable to find file. So I don't know why the "lnk" is appearing and how to use the converted file from ClipGrab.

Martin, I don't know what browser you are using but in Firefox I use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... src=search addon.
Great tool for the job, no need for conversions.

Hi
The Torch Browser also has an inbuilt download media option, that seems to work well
