lens profiles

Post by malepo »

Hi all,

yes I know there are other topics about lens profiles and there are how tos out there - but ...

this lens profile written to the profile_nikonSLR.txt for version 1.2.7 32bit is working pretty well

Code: Select all

begin lens
group: nikonSLR
multiplier: 1
aperture: 3.5
calibrate: true
menu_lens: Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro
cal_abc: 28.0 -0.008234 -0.009837 0.000000
cal_abc: 34.0 0.000517 -0.004678 0.000000
cal_abc: 55.0 -0.005159 0.005687 0.000000
cal_abc: 75.0 -0.004279 0.008223 0.000000
cal_abc: 100.0 0.001460 0.005137 0.000000
cal_abc: 135.0 -0.000965 0.006750 0.000000
cal_abc: 200.0 -0.003544 0.007188 0.000000
cal_abc: 300.0 -0.000008 0.004710 0.000000
end
having copied it to version 2.4 64bit leaves me with a "not calibrated"

I've put this calibration above in a my_profiles.txt and into the profile_nikonSLR.txt (into both, one of both) but all the same, nothing.

Any idea what else I could do?

Thanks & Cheers
Martin

ok - got it to work doing it the way like given here: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=57724

in the end i deleted all lens files given by default, I only kept:

profile.txt
profile_genericSLR.txt
profile_nikonlenstable.txt

with profile.txt looking like this:

Code: Select all

version: 4.2
file: profile_nikonlenstable.txt
file: profile_genericSLR.txt
profile_genericSLR.txt only has definitions for those cameras and lenses I own - Example:

Code: Select all

#Nikon D600
begin camera
group: nikonSLR
group: genericSLR
multiplier: 1
menu_make: Nikon SLR
menu_model: D600
exif_make: NIKON CORPORATION
exif_model: NIKON D600
end

#Sigma DG 50-500mm F/4.5-6.3 APO HSM
begin lens
group: nikonSLR
multiplier: 1.0
aperture: 4.0
calibrated: true
menu_lens: Sigma 50-500mm f/4.0-6.3 APO DG HSM
cal_abc: 50 -0.0045257 0.0121475 -0.0118278
cal_abc: 72 -0.0004958 0.0119552 -0.0080606
cal_abc: 100 0.0055918 -0.0059002 0.0157995
cal_abc: 135 -0.0004780 0.0168021 -0.0111586
cal_abc: 195 -0.0013856 0.0198561 -0.0142491
cal_abc: 270 -0.0037291 0.0346552 -0.0361021
cal_abc: 320 -0.0295679 0.1122938 -0.1111381
cal_abc: 420 -0.0003765 0.0091695 0.0033635
cal_abc: 500 -0.0006307 0.0094386 0.0018172
end
my foundings were:
1. the "multiplier" value has to be the same like given in exif, in my case with a D600 those are all 1.0
2. the name of the lens at "menu_lens:" has to eqaul the lens name gien in exif or profile_nikonlenstable.txt

I'm not sure whether the "profile_nikonlenstable.txt" is needed but it looks like it isn't harming anything

profile_nikonlenstable.txt, this file I kept unchanged

an yes, you have to save those files and setting somewhere, as those will be overwritten with each update.

The positive thing about that solution for me is:
- I only have to deal with 3 files
- in AS the drop downs for lens corrections just list those cameras and lenses I really have

now I just need some the correction values for my Tokina 80-400 :) well looks like I have to take it to town and take some window shots.

Thansk an Cheers
Martin

PS. never mind for going to town with this one once again

Take the time to make a backup of your amended files - they will be overwritten and replaced when ever you do an upgrade or re-install.
Just Copy them back after upgrades.
