Multi-trim vide, what's it mean?

I have VS7.
What is the new feature in VS9 called multi-trim video do?

Currently, to edit out commercials I have to put the same video clip on my timeline many times because I can only trim the begginning and end of each clip. Does the above feature address that so you can trim multiple times in the same clip?
