Wishlist for VideoStudio X10

Post by Ken Berry »

As always when a new version is released we provide a topic in which your wishes for the next version can be posted.

This allows us to direct any visiting Corel development staff to just one topic to see what users want rather than wading through a few hundred posts.

A lot of the wishes for X9 have not been added so here's your chance to add them again.

Smartsound plugin. Better/faster CPU and GPU usage. Use OpenCL (is it already using it?).

1. Improved Color Correction with a screen similar to ColorDirerctor 4's Tone control. True, there are FX's, but this would be a good addition. MCE was included because one must follow the crowd in this situation. However, how many people have two or more identical cameras and others to help with the video shooting? You cannot just say press the button as one does when asking a stranger to take a photo.

Now, will it be X10, or more consistently, XX?

I agree with all of this, Something as simple as a white paper would go a long way.

This is more of a communication/marketing issue than it is a software one.

A lot of people on this forum ask the same question "what hardware do I need to get the most out of VS" Corel needs to get much better at communicating this to it's customers.

Good move Brian!
Back to wish list for X10 or XX or .....
The question is, how far do VS users want VS to go. The further it goes, the more complex it becomes. Again, for me, add Smartsound plugin, better multicore CPU and GPU (even Crossfire and SLI support), along with optimizing it as much as possible, there isn't much more I would want. I know to remain competitive, something "new" always has to be added, but VS has just about everything on my "wish list" in X9.
Maybe customizable keyboard shortcuts would be nice. If you come from another editor that uses different shortcuts, it would be nice to be able to continue to use them.

Those free downloads .... you would have to have users upload them like with PD and another forum for them. It's an idea, but one I personally would not use. They are user created, not produced by Cyberlink. It's a marketing numbers game, "Free thousands upon thousands of....." For "me", I don't have the time to look through thousands and thousands of examples. If they are created within the program, that means that I can do them too, while learning how to use the program. But, that's me.... who knows though... an interactive forum like that might work well here.

Tony, unfortunately most users use less than 50% of what the software can offer as they do not explore it or read the manual from time to time.

More free NewBlue effects and transitions. I use to have NewBlue effects and transitions that I bought for my VS Ultimate X6 like 3D Explosion transitions and Light effects. Most of what I bought are no longer compatible with VS Ultimate X8, but surprisingly lots of them are with CyberLink PowerDirector.

The ability it embed "cues" or "markers" in a video or audio clip. So where ever it is moved, it will contain it's own set of markers.

Interesting that there is a SmartSound plugin for Pinnacle Studio 19, which is also a Corel product but not for Video Studio
