Uninstalling KB3126587 & KB3126593 does resolve the Quicktime issue legt by Hot Fix 2.
But your Windows Updates must be put in hold.

Re: Video Studio Pro 8 will not start
Gentlemen, late last night I got another Windows updates, but refused to open it though it said very important material. Don't they know the problems their last update caused us. Or is this update a fix for the last mishap which prevented VS X8 from starting and caused MOV file extensions to be rejected. Until they make this clear I think it's better to be safe then sorry by not excepting further Windows updates, at least until this is all cleared up. Regards, Mike

Re: Video Studio Pro 8 will not start
Did you take the number of that update? Did it have a "More info" link which might explain what it is aimed at?

Re: Video Studio Pro 8 will not start
No I did not. I only recall it saying Windows update and that it was giving me a count down before it began. It will be back since I merely put it off for later. I will check it better next time. But don't want to play with it. Something just don't seem right about this. Mike

I am having the same problem - listed under Quicktime and MOV topic. Did you resolve it. I have not removed the Windows updates. Maybe that resolves it?

Hi Mike
Yes you should remove the updates, when a final fix is provided by Corel for X7 X8. X9 then you should be able to install those offending updates without problems
In Control Panel, Programs and Features, click View Installed Updates. Top left
- Remove KB3126587 and/or KB3126593
- Do NOT reboot.
Now go to
Control Panel - Windows Updates
Run Check for Updates, it should find the two updates
View updates to install
Select update , right click
Hide updates KB3126587 and/or KB3126593.
