Sorry Mike the TimeLapse issue regarding Frequency has not been addressed. We did inform Corel about this.
Having seen this post I have just sent another report to them, you never know?

As for Pan and Zoom I have just tested that and could not replicate the problem, although I did struggle the first time?
All I can suggest you run the trial X9 when its released to see if you have the same problem.

What about hardware acceleration? I was very disappointed with the support in X8 for my nvidia cards. I don't really see any difference.

Thanks

Hardware acceleration applies to encoding/decoding, not rendering. It makes your editing smoother mostly, nothing else.

Rendering is done primarily by your CPU.

HI Brian,

maybe it was, but it seems they have change that. I asked the Corel support if it is possible to upgrade from any version of Video Studio to X9. Here is their answer:
It is correct that as long as you own any previous version of VideoStudio, Pro or Ultimate, you are eligible to purchase an upgrade license of VideoStudio X9. Simply have your previous version serial number handy in case you are asked for it during installation.
So that's good news :).

We have learnt not to take to much notice of what Corel support say - it will be interesting to hear from any one who has X5 or X6 as to whether they have successfully installed the upgrade version

It is possible they have changed their policy in the light of the current problems with the Windows 7 update and now every one on Win 7 with Videostudio X7 or previous cannot use it.

Well, I just had the X4 version, but I bought X9 Ultimate upgrade some days ago from Corel directly and installed it today. Corel sent me a serial number for X9, so I did not need to enter this number from a previous version. In fact, I uninstalled X4 before I installed X9 and it seems the installer did not bother that :).

So, I am now a happy user of the latest version of Visual Studio and can finally use up to 8 audio tracks, which was the main reason to me to get it. It seems you are right, they changed the policy - at least for the special upgrade offer until the end of February. I got the upgrade for just 49 EUR, while Amazon offers it for 84 EUR (for Germany), so I think it was really a bargain.

Please refer to this video to see what i mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=filhuzL ... e=youtu.be

With the multicam module you just do the "cuts" and with the PIP option you set clips to the overlay track.
When that result is loaded to VS , there you continue your edit and modify the way the clips will show.
