PSP X8 - Problems with Fujifilm Firmware 4.0

Post by Leggi »

Hello,

since few weeks I am working with Paintshop Pro X8 instead of Photoshop. It works really fine. Last week Fujifilm offered a firmware update (4.0) for most of their cameras. After having updated I can´t open the RAW-files (RAF) from my Fujifilm X-E2 anymore. I always get the message, that PSP X8 cannot open it. Could you please help me?

Best regards
Rainer

I would guess that the update has changed the coding of the Raw file so that it is no longer recognized by PSP. You will probably find that other programs will have the same problem until the specifications for the new raw format come out to the graphics program companies and they can then send out a fix for that for their programs. In the meantime does the Fujifilm site offer an updated raw converter ? Does the new format open in their current raw converter and if so you can convert to tif and then process that in PSP or other programs
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Thank you for your quick answer. I think you´re right, because I read in another board, that photo ninja has similar problems. Meanwhile I will go back to PSE, that can handle the new RAF-Format, too.

Thank you for help with best regards from Germany
