I installed psp 8 and somehow when i click save button, it asks!! for filename and then overwrite confirmation.
And not just save.
I do not click the save as -button.
HOW TO FIX THIS??
Is there a way to lock the toolbar ?
btw. Installed sp1 and all my added buttons were gone!
second time used the manage and adjust..boom! my added buttons were gone second time from the top of the editor mode

No, there is no option to lock toolbars.
As for the Save issue. There is a very long topic about it other places on the forums. PSP adopted this format to allow people to define the compression for JPEGs when they save the document. This should only happen for JPEGs. And this will only happen the first time you select "Save" from for an open image. All subsequent saves for that image will just automtically save with the set values. However it will happen once for each individual image so if you have two images open you'll get the save as dialog popping up once on each image.
You can also hold the SHIFT key while clicking on Save to avoid this pop-up. Shift forces the command to run silently.
