Hi
I'm trying Video Studio X8 out, and having difficulty working out how to apply multiple transparencies to an overlay video track - ie. having the image or video opacity fade in and out. I've applied a consistent transparency but can't find where the customization is for keyframes.
Do forgive me if my terminology is askew but I'm very new to Video Studio, having previously worked on Serif Movieplus where it's fairly straightforward, using 'keystones'.
Many thanks, Colin

Hi Colin
Welcome to the forums.
If you are trying to Fade-In and Fade- out the video there are several ways of doing that.
You mention Overlay Track; double click the clip will open the Options Panel to the right of the preview screen.
Attributes tab you should see Directions / Styles, below that are Fade ramps, float the mouse for a tool tip.
They will apply a fade in but using 33%, maybe a little long depending on your clip length, Adjust the Pause Duration with the slider below the preview screen.
There is Advanced Motion, you will find this panel very useful, here you can add Keyframes to set Fades, as I say worth getting used to this panel.
Transitions
We can add a “cross fade” transition from the A/B library, that again will fade in / out.
The default durations can be set in Preferences F6 edit tab
As a start does that help?

Re: transparency keyframes
Personally I would just RIGHT click on the image /video in the overlay track and choose 'Customise Motion'
then you can add as many keyfranes as you want and set transparency at each one
It looks as though Trevor missed the word "multiple" in the original question - apart from the advanced motion he mentioned the other options he gave will only do a single fade in fade out
