Warp Mesh Question

Post by melissaconway »

Is there a hotkey to constrain the vertical mesh lines? When I click/drag a node, I need the lines to stay absolutely vertical, and it's extremely difficult to see if the line is broken and adjust while dragging. Thanks.

Hold the Shift key if you want to move a line
and hold the Ctrl Key of you want to bend a line.

Thanks Joëlle, but Shift is supposed to move the entire row or column, while Ctrl is supposed to deform the row or column into a smooth curve. I want to constrain a node's line horizontally (keep it from bending at all) as I drag it. I've uploaded an example of what I mean.

(My bad, I wrote "vertically" in my original post, I suffer from directional dyslexia.)

Hold on, I figured out a way to do this. When I initially click on the node, I need to glance down at the bottom of the screen to where my cursor's x and y coordinates are displayed. As I drag to the right, I simply need to keep the y coordinate at the same number. Simple, but not intuitive. :D

If you use a guide, it can at least help you visually, even if the nodes won't snap to the guide.
