Changing working folder doesn't work

Post by delboy007 »

I have changed the working folder in preferences but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. Every time I want to save a project it defaults to Corel VideoStudio Pro\my projects . Is this a bug ?

I think working folder is for auto saves and other temp files that VS may use.

It is a default but
For saving the project files, just browse to a folder and save there, then this will be OK for the full session.
When returning to that project just remember to open it from the list.

-- I do recommend to save a project (or copy it) to two locations from time to time.

I have just created six projects in the same session and unlike most programs I have had to navigate to my preferred folder every time.

Can't say I remember any one else reporting a problem

when you open 'Preferences' and click on the little icon to browse to a new location and then select a new working folder - how are you closing that "Browse for folder" window - if you click the cross in the top right corner the selection is lost - you must click the OK

when you get back to the preferences window do you see your new choice showing before you click OK

if you open the preference window again later what is showing in that drop down

I do it all the time. My projects are saved on the same drive as the video files and not on C:
And from time to time I save a copy under the client folder where all the other related materials (different drive)

Yes. I am a retired I.T. professional and must have worked with a million programs since 1986. My preferred working folder is saved correctly in preferences and I have also closed the program and reopened it but the behaviour is the same.
