how do you change the speed of an animiated title

Post by delboy007 »

As far as I can see the only way to change the speed of an animated title is to change it's length. So what do I do if I am happy with the length of the clip but the title is moving much too fast ?

I don't think there is a setting for this. You can adjust the length of the title and this changes the animation speed, but perhaps this is not what you want to do.

Not sure how you expect that to work delboy

If I asked you to run the whole length of a football pitch and only gave you 10 seconds to do it you would have to run quite fast wouldn't you - but if I gave you 10 minutes you could walk quite slowly - so how would you get from end to end slowly if I only gave you 15 seconds

get the picture - if you have chosen a title with a certain amount of motion in it then it must complete that motion in the time you have given it

more time = slower - - - less time = faster

if you only want your title a certain length of time then you need to choose one which can complete the inbuilt motion at the speed you want within that time

The title I have chosen might be set for 10 seconds. It moves into place quickly into place in 2 seconds and then remains stationary for the remaining 8 seconds. I should be able to slow it down and have only 4 seconds stationary. The speed of the animation is one thing and the length of the clip is something entirely different. Maybe I have a 20 second title clip and want it move into place quickly.

Hi

I guess we all understand now.

The Pause Duration defaults to 33%

33% in
33% stationary
33% out

We can alter the timing, the duration by adjusting the trim bars below the preview screen
As asik points out in the User Guide

Also have a look at this web page shows what the Trim Markers can do

Yes excellent thanks all. The pause duration thing works perfectly although it was a little tricky to find.

Hi, and thank you for any response that might help me. I have read over the posts here and I still cannot figure out how to slow down my title. It was originally from a preset 'beginning' within my CorelVideoStudio x10, and I am not even sure how to tell what settings have been put on the title. It doesn't seem to show us that very easily. I want to slow the writing down on the title, it goes too fast.

Thanking you in advance
Carolyn

PS I am hoping someone can help me today, as I am working on a school assignment. thanx

Okay I finally figured it out after 3 hours :)
I still wish it was a little more adjustable though. Thank you so much.

Hi Carolyn

Sorry for the delay in our reply, I guess the weekend may have had something to do with that.

The only way to slow down animation is to increase the length of the title clip, that way the characters will remain on screen for a longer time.
Some animations can have their pause durations adjusted, this will also affect the speed but only a little, the main adjustment being the length of the clip.

Some more info here, posted earlier

Thanks Trevon, I do hope in the future that take that and make it better. I used a lot of other programs and never had that an issue like this one.

Thanks again!

Hope your weekend is going great

Good question, this answer would interest me as well. It often happens that such users stash their solution and leave us in the cold.
So Carolyn, please tell us your solution. :)

I will come back to the title topic. If I understood it right. How can I slow down the animation? General answer, stretch the title length. So also my knowledge. But, this also extends the stationary time of the text. I have thought of a solution to avoid this. A workaround. If interest exists, I can describe my solution here.

Here is a sample ...
https://youtu.be/YAFC_onC8EE
... part 1 is original length, Part 2 is the modification.
