First Play Video - Very bad conversion quality

Post by hellojello »

How do you set this program to NOT convert the first play video? After I create the image and preview it on my PC, the first play video has been encoded to garbage quality. Everything is blurry and whatnot. What resoultion/frames per second do I encode the video at so Picture show will not convert it? Is there an option in the program to "Do not convert compliant files" like in DVD movie factory?

Thank you.

It has to be reencoded all the time. Remember that you are trying to author a video disc VCD, SVCD or DVD. These video formats follow certain standards and have their own video compression and properties to follow.

If your video clip follows the standards for the video output of your choice, then PictureShow should not have a hard time reencoding the video clip and it will not turn out with a bad quality. If it uses a different standard, then it's only natural for the video quality to change.

You can visit the Ulead Learning Center to learn more about the different video standards that are used for VCD, SVCD and DVD.
