As of PSP X8, JPG's not recognized on MP3 player

Post by DaveG74 »

I know...strange issue. Possibly not one to ask on this Forum, but it has some relevance.

Typically, when I add new JPG's to my MP3 player -- for album artwork or whatever -- they are detected fine. However, since I started using Paint Shop Pro X8, all JPG's saved from there are not recognized on my MP3 player. (They come up blank.) I would've compared these to previous JPG's loaded there, but MediaMonkey doesn't allow you to download the JPG's you've loaded into the MP3 tags.

So what could be the issue? Did PSP X8 change the way JPG's are saved, compared to X7?
Any information is appreciated, as I would love to see my new album covers. Thanks in advance! :)

I don't own an MP3 player, but this is what I would suggest you do to start.

First, there are 2 jpg choices in the Save dialogue dropdown, JP2 JPEG 2000, and the standard JPG JPEG options. Make sure that in X8 you are choosing the correct one.

But besides that there are several different options within the JPG JPEG dialogue. Compare the settings you have used in X7 with those being used in X8. For example, when you choose the JPG format, press the Options button. It usually defaults to Standard Encoding and has Save Exif checked. Check to see if these, plus other options such as Chroma Subsampling and Embed Color profile are the same as you have previously been using in X7.
