No photo thumbnails shown in Manage tab
Running Paintshop Pro X8 on Windows 10. Under the Manage tab my display shows zero thumbnails, no matter what folder I select. I don't appear to have any filters set. How do I fix this?

Can we assume you have clicked View > Palettes and then enabled Organizer; or clicked Shift+F9?

Re: No photo thumbnails shown in Manage tab
Organizer is a not a valid option (grayed out) from the Manager Tab, only the Adjust Tab. I have X7 running on a second computer with the same folder of files selected and it works fine. However, on my primary computer with X8, the window displays "No files found" rather than the appropriate thumbnails.Ken Berry wrote:Can we assume you have clicked View > Palettes and then enabled Organizer; or clicked Shift+F9?

Some additional info: I actually have both X7 and X8 on the same computer. X7 works fine. X8 does not find any of the photos.

In Manage mode in the centre right before the Exif Info there are three icons for Map, Preview and Thumbnail Mode.Autumnsboy wrote:Organizer is a not a valid option (grayed out) from the Manager Tab, only the Adjust Tab. If you select Preview mode or Map mode, doesn't the Organiser appear along the bottom?
Then with Navigation shown (left folders icon on Organiser toolbar) try selecting Computer - Desktop and go to a folder you have prepared on the desktop with a few jpg images in there. Do they show?
You might also try resetting your program with the Shift held down and start up from a double click of the desktop icon.
I can verify that this all works on Windows 10 for me on an old Toshiba M300 laptop. Have yet to try on my main computer (still have to install Windows 10 there).
Re filters? I think you mean plug ins I have them also working - I have Athentech Perfectly Vlear that came with X8 installed and working, I have pointed via File > Preferences > File Locations the X8 to the X4 plugins to give me the KPT Collection and Nik Software Color Efex Pro 3.0 Complete that came with the X4 Ultimate program.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Re: No photo thumbnails shown in Manage tab
First of all this has nothing to do with the Organizer. Its about the main display and the thumbnails that normally display under Thumbnail mode. And yes, I can get the organizer to display under Map or Display modes, but the problem WAS that it would not find any photos in the folders selected, despite me knowing that they are there. FYI, everything works fine for X7 installed on the same computer.
With regard to filters, I mean that I didn't select only 1 star or more photos as a filter to only display those. I understand that would cause some photos to not show.
In any event, I uninstalled the program and re-installed and I was able to get the thumbnails to display, but now onto the next issue.
I am unable to install any updates which I know exist but the program won't access them. Upon checking for updates the message is blank other than the header (Corel PaintShop Pro X8). It should initially say "Checking for updates" and include a CANCEL bottom. These do not show. Then a new window should appear telling me about the update. A window does appear but again, only the header (Corel PaintShop Pro X8). Again, upon exiting the program I get another message window telling me of "An Important update is available for Corel PaintShop Pro X8" but of course the rest of the message box is blank. Again, these all work fine with X7 installed on the same computer. Why would this work fine for X7 but not X8?

Re: No photo thumbnails shown in Manage tab
I also have this problem. When I first installed PSP X8 from the DVD, It had no problem showing thumbnails. All seemed to work OK, except sometimes I needed to right click and refresh the main display area. I then installed Service Pack 1. Goodbye thumbnails. The only way I can see any of my 12000 photos is open each individually. My choices are to uninstall and return to the original version without the Service Pack. I've been that route and it's not nice, until you use the cleanup tools. Since I use this software for editing, it isn't worth the hassle. I just use a different management program. Maybe they will fix it someday.

Re: No photo thumbnails shown in Manage tab
This is exactly the same problem I'm having. I updated from x8 to paintshop pro 2018 and the management mode only displays the "No files found" message. I have been clicking and messing around for an hour and I've made no progress. I realize now that I probably wanted PaintShopPro 2018 ultimate. Unfortunately I don't think the guy I talked to understood that and now I've spent all day farting with the new versions of PaintShop Pro and VideoStudio and I don't have what I wanted in either case and I can't even get the VideoStudio Pro 2018 that I have installed to work in the management mode. Damn
