Uninstall from printer list

Post by seebee »

The printer list in pspx8 shows a few printers that have been removed from 'devices' in the control panel. The pspx8 list is confusing because of this. Does anyone know of a way to get rid of deleted printers?
Thanks.

Tried testing removing a printer and part experienced your problem.
In Win 7 I went to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers
This gave a list of printers and other devices webcam, Fax, PDF Creator etc.
I found one printer there I was no longer using and so right clicked and deleted it.
It disappeared, but was still visible in PSP X8
Went back to the Devices and Printers and found the printer back there again.
Tried deleting it a number of different ways and still it would not disappear.
Discovered it had a pending document to print, managed to delete that through Right click and See What's Printing , Right click the document and Cancel.
This time when I deleted the printer it stayed deleted and no longer appeared in PSP X8 list.

So it appears you cannot remove a printer if there is still a document pending for printing.
Hope that is your problem.

Thanks for your efforts. The printer that shows up in psp is non existent in the control panel. I would guess that it has been left in a registry line. Not game to alter this though.

You could also try resetting your PSP to default. If you have customized your workspace and it has taken some time then save your workspace through File > Workspace > Save first. Close PSP
Then hold the Shift key down and restart your PSP and hopefully it will reset to default and maybe PSP will re read the list of printers from your system again and use the updated list.
