PSP Distort Circle

Post by kevsim74 »

I have a circle drawn in raster mode.
I wish to distort the circle to be longer one end and shorter the other in reference to the center point.
I do not know if it can be done and would appreciate some advise.

You can use the pick tool and change the mode from Scale to any of the other modes (Free; Perspective; Shear). Experiment until you get the result you are looking for.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

As Kathy said the pick tool has different modes. From what you're describing I think you want the perspective distortion. You can either select the mode or just hold CTRL as you drag the points around. I don't know if it does this around the center point but it does not look like the center point moves.

If I'm wrong about what you want then what you're talking about is squishing the circle but leaving the center point in its current location. Sadly this isn't possible with raters. With a vector circle you can drag the edge points around and they'll resize centered on the center point. Raster graphics will maintain one side as you resize and re-center the center point as you drag.

I thank you all for the replies.
I have resorted to doing it as a vector, it works very well for my project.
