Are pspbrwse.jbf files no longer used with PSP X7?

Post by MichaelD_Utah »

I've been a long-time user of Paint Shop Pro 5 and 6, but upgraded to PSP X7 early last year. With PSP5 and PSP6, as we all know the image browser would normally cache thumbnails of images in a given folder using a pspbrwse.jbf file (unless one turned off that functionality). However, the PSP X7 installation on my system doesn't do this, and I'm unable to find a way to enable the feature. Has it been removed from the program?

The new manager uses a different system to manage its database. It still does caching but in a different way.

Hmm. It doesn't appear to work on my system, then, or at least not with removable drives. Any idea how it works and how to verify it's doing its job?
