Preview actual size in separate window? PSP X6

Post by Howly »

I do pixel art and have to have the image zoomed in while editing/drawing in PSP X6. Is there any way to have a palette/smaller window open that shows a preview of the actual size of the image while I'm zoomed in and drawing? I thought "Overview" would do this but it shows a much smaller version and doesn't allow me to adjust the zoom % of the overview, only the actual image. Currently I have to zoom out every time if i want to see my progress, then zoom back in to get back to work. Just was curious if there was a way to have a 100% zoom preview next to the workspace.

I have never used Overview, but got curious :-)
You can drag on a corner of the overview window to make it bigger and toggle it on and off using F9, but I can't see anything else that could be of use.
A 2nd monitor would solve the problem.

This might be a silly question, but can you not do the editing on smaller selections of the image and then paste them back?
:-)

There's actually a very easy way to do it. Go to Window > New Window. It opens the same image a second time. Any editing that you do in the original will show in the second copy.

Now that's a neat tip! I, for one, wasn't aware of that.

Thank you for that LindaSue. I have used PSP for many years and had never heard or read of that tip before.
Again these seem to be just a line in the help files almost like an aside. It has been present since at least PSP 8 (my earliest version).
