'name' column disappeared in list view

Post by Glenn in Chile »

Hi guys, I accidentally dragged the 'name' column out of view while in the list view of the library. Now I can't get it back???? Right-clicking on the column headings area shows 'name' category as blacked out, not giving me the option to turn it back on. Any help?

The Name column is the only one you cannot remove so the Right Click option is ok

I think you have shrunk the Name by reducing the column width

Float the mouse to the far left of Type till the curser looks like a vertical line with cross arrows, double click should set column width

Thanks for this. It's exactly what happened. I would have never figured that out. Much appreciated.

custom shape the video clip in the overlay track

Post by Glenn in Chile »

Hi again, here's another task that stumps me. When I lay a video in the overlay track I'd like to be able to modify the shape of the clip to any custom shape. I can grab the yellow points on the shape frame to change the shape somewhat, but I was wondering if there was some way to add more yellow points so I could customize the shape to fit strangely shaped objects, curves, etc. Any chance of that? Rgds,Glenn

ps.
To be more precise, what I'm trying to do is fit an overlay video on the curved screen in the Instant Project - Complete - IP 02 - 21_Fun 04.

I don't seem to have a IP-02 - but I do see that IP-C24 is also titled 21_fun 04 - - - is that the one ?

that image there is not curved - look carefully at the image and you will see that it is all square but has been masked using Chroma key to have curved edges

you can distort images in the overlay track - but not with curves - look to the yellow squares in the corners and you will see a small green square - select that - cursor changes to a square block and move that where ever you want

Thanks. Yes, I see now that the screen has been modified using the chroma key. I'll have to beef up my knowledge of how to use that. Looks complicated, but fun. Thanks for the heads-up.

Chroma key is actually very easy - another alternative is to make a mask with a transparent area in it
