X8 Update now crashing
Can anyone help. I have just received a forced update for my VSX8 and now it keeps crashing. The error comes when I place a music file onto the time line. I remember in the past I had to remove the VSDVD application to work around this but this time it didn't make any difference. Can anyone help.

What is the format of the music file? If it is mp3 then you should first convert it to standard .wav format using an audio editing program like the freeware Audacity. VS has difficulty with mp3 when made with the LAMEmp3 codec.

Hi
Are you having any other problems using the Sample clips, any problems using images or video clips.
I have a Lenovo laptop that had problems, turned out to be the graphics driver, the laptop was brand new so you would not expect to update that.
Just a thought.

Re: X8 Update now crashing
Hi
After about a year I found a windows update for my graphics driver via the optional updates.
That cured my problem.
But I was having quite a lot of problems, which is why I asked if you were having other issues?
This is the problem I found.

Even if you are not having any other problems it is probably best to check graphics drivers as you have upgraded to Windows 10
