saving split audio as wav file directly from timeline

Post by Glenn in Chile »

Hi guys,
Would anyone know of a way to save or export an audio clip as a wav file directly from the timeline? The audio clip was split from a video clip. Right now to save as a wav file, I'm splitting the audio, selecting the project range for the audio clip, then sharing as a wav file. It works fine, but I have numerous files to do for every class and I'm looking for a quicker method. For each class I insert about 100 short video files to the timeline, then either split the audio or simply select all and drag them to the audio timeline, then do the sharing one by one. I know I can batch drag them up to the library for use as audio files in the X8.5 program, but I need them also as wav files for use in another program. Any quick method suggestions?

Well apart from your method, the only other one I know is also not particularly short. But you don't have to split the audio. Just go to Share and select Audio as the output format, select the codec you want, give it a name and press Start.

Thanks Ken. That's one step less to do. I think I'll have to go to another program, like xmedia recode to do my batch conversions. We gave it a good try though.
