Video Studio X7 Rendering problem

Post by joymcc »

I have learned not to mix video formats such as iPhones and cameras as the rendering gets to a point, usually 99% and just stops. But yesterday I was trying to render a project that all videos came from the same camera, yet there were some segments that were long. I've tried deleting some of the long videos yet the most percentage I can get to is 13% before it quits. I have checked all the formats, they are all the same. I guess I shall just start over with a new project.

Welcome to the forum!

First, though, we need to know the Properties of the video you are having difficulty with. Right click one of the clips in the VS timeline and copy ALL its Properties here, please, or take a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.

Clearly, though, there is something about at least one of the clips which VS does not like. Can you also tell us what editing you have done, what filters you might have added, background music etc. The latter can also be important as VS does not particularly like mp3 audio made with the LAMEmp3 codec. Our usual advice there is to convert the audio to standard .wav format in a third party audio editing program. The freeware Audacity is an excellent choice in this regard.

Hi joymcc

CVSX7 there were a few problems with Mov and Mp4 type video files, I think camera manufacturers using new or tweaked versions caused the video editors to play catch-up.

One hot fix was to replace a file seemed to fix some issues for some types.

If this does not help then you may have to convert the video to a more editable format, Format Factory is a free converter, take care when installing to only install Format Factory and no other addons they may wish to install. Otherwise it works well.
