Command execution failed message in ProX4

Post by jaws231 »

Hi! I am working in Paintshop ProX4 and am trying to go into "channel mixer" ("adjust" menu on main toolbar, and then "color") to select "monochrome" but I keep getting this message:" Command execution failed, the attempted operation is not valid in the current program state". Can someone tell me what is the problem and how do I fix it?
Thanks!

If I recall correctly from previous experience, that is a dialogue you get when the image you are working on is in a state that the filter you are choosing is not able to apply its effect on. Unfortunately I cannot remember what I was doing or what effect I was trying to apply when I first saw that warning. Does this happen with every image on which you attempt to use the Color Mixer or just on a particular image? If the latter, could you provide details of that image - i.e., color depth, raster or vector layer, any selections present, etc.? That might jog my memory regarding what caused me to see the warning in the past.

Have you tried Layers>New Adjustment Layer>Channel Mixer instead?

I use X8, I no longer have X4 installed, so can't verify if it's the same, but it should be.
