Missing for Update

Post by -cr »

I would love to update from still using AfterShot Pro 2.1 to the current version,
but I really need the functionality of GradFilterPro - or something similar. :(

Seriously, Corel: How hard can it be to include such functionality in the core product, like the competition does (afaik)?

Yes, Vigne *could* fill in this gap, but compared to GradFilterPro, this is rather cumbersome. Not to fault Vigne, as it is meant for a single vignette and not for multiple (*) linear gradients. As frequently as I use the latter technique, I'd rather stay with GradFilterPro and the old AfterShotPro. And even GradFilterPro is (looks?) more cumbersome than LightRoom's equivalent, e.g.

(*) Multiple layers with a single Vigne filter each could supply multiple linear gradients.

I agree.
We still need GradFilterPro - sadly - I guess Corel just don't get it.
Or the coding is beyond their skill level.

Draw a large area with large transition and apply your exposure correction and it is done. Gradefilter is useless.

If you read french, (translate if not or just look at the screenshots) I wrote some years ago a review "how to apply graduated neutral density soft filter in ASP" . I tried GradFilter, Vigne and mask exposure. : http://www.benoitvarret.fr/journal/asp- ... grade.html
Darktable 3. Bye bye aftershot.

No, it isn't. Please read my reply regarding Vigne as a substitute for GradFilterPro above.
