VSX5 Windows 10 compatibility

Hi,

I have ungraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 with VSX5 and it worked.
After one month due to other Windows 10 problem I made a clean reinstallation of Windows 10 and then install VSX5 +SP1, it worked too.

Today, VSX5 suddenly can't start. I uninstalled it and reinstalled VSX5 + SP1 + SP3. SP2 can't installed. However same problem.

Please help.

P.S. I try to attach vstudio_15.3.0.13_20160105_224255.DMP but not successful.

Do you think when X5 was out 4-5 years ago , win 10 was in corel's mind?
I guess you run updates on 10 in the last 36 hours.

Windows 10 runs almost all of my older program as old as Windows XP days.

VSX5 is just nice for me and will not spend unnecessary on VSX8 as I do not need those features.

I assume you have run the Compatibility Troubleshooter, or set compatibility to windows 7.

Have you tried running the program as Administrator

Sorry I do not have Windows 10 so cannot replicate

Thanks. Yes I did all you have mentioned.

I just find out the program can't start when I click at the program icon however if I open an old project then it starts correctly.
Temporary I use it as workaround.

so is it only the desktop icon that's not working

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X5.vstudio.exe

Double click should run the program

Right click and choose send to Desktop will create a new shortcut icon.
