Installation of PSP X8

I have just purchased a copy of Paintshop Pro X8 Ultimate.When I try to install it I get a message Your system has not been modified. Any help please?

Uninstall with this:

Shut down your PC.
... and reinstall...

I used the uninstaller, but I am still coming up with this same error message on subsequent attempts.
The external dvd drive somehow lost connection during the installation process causing the failed install.

What do I do?

Is your firewall blocking it or some other software you may have running when installing?
