Still not working for me, even after rebooting the computer... VS X8.5 (18.6.0.6) x 64 bit on Win 10.

Trying to open a specific Instant Project template by going to File > Open Project, the only one that crashes is HTML 08, I am assuming because it contains an .swf flash clip and that seems to be what this latest hotfix is aimed at fixing. But again using File > Open, VS crashes on this specific instant project.

There seems to be a recent issue with new installs. I just bought the software last week. First was the instant project crash, which a patch seemed to fix that issue.

Now if I want to reset the library it gets stuck on "(1%) Please wait... OPEN4.vfx" . I have to shut down the process via task manager !

So the patch stops the crashing on instant project but i think there are other issues as reported by others and I cannot reset the library correctly ? Maybe as a new install I missed somthing ?

For some reason overlay transitions do not show in alphabetical order, whereas all the other categories are in order, just a quirk of the program, not an issue, the Studio Backlot image is showing transitions from the "All" category

Corel have indicated they are still working on this other aspect of the problem, and hope to have something for us by the end of the week...

I restarted the install. Here are the steps I took and the results.

Completely removed the initial installation, checking all folders had been removed.

1. Installed part 1 of main program
2. Run program and install hot fix and then service pack.
3. Installed part 2 contents.
4. Updated the patched file before running program.
5. Installed part 3 bonus content.
6. Installed newfx plugins

Now instant project does not crash. I will post screenshots later to show. Too me I seem to have more content than previous installs?

I have not tried to reset the library yet. Will try later today.

Corel did bring out a series of Service Packs

As far as I know also changed the program files so earlier purchases were CVSX8, later we purchased CVSX8.5. I have the earlier version.

At first after installation several hot fixes were applied, one messed up and a hot Fix was required.
Since then SP3 was provided.
For me I install and the program auto installs SP3 only.

I don’t know if other operating systems require the hot fix.

You can try installing manually, if not required or already installed should get the message “ version cannot be verified.

But as I say I allow the program to install SP’s automatically.

I know, that's why I asked what kind of fix you had in mind. I think to re-install CVS X8 and install all the updates in order starting with the oldest. There is the idea that Corel did not include some previous fix in SP3.

are you running Windows 7, as far as I know the Flash / Instant project problem affects Windows 8 and 10 not 7

I have not had a problem with my CVSX8, I have re-installed a few times over the past two weeks, allowing auto updates

when uninstalling I choose to remove all personal settings

And rename the folders

VSPTemplate to VSPTemplate¬_old
VSPContent to VSPContent_old -- you may not see this one???

Then
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro
Rename 18.0 to 18.0 old
The folder is hidden, type %appdata% in Start search panel to find roaming folder

Run X8

I renamed the folder VSPTemplate in VSPTemplate_old, then rename the folder "18" in "18_old", launched CVS X8 and it gave an error and closed. I run CVS X8 and it again gave an error while updating the database. I run CVS X8, and I clicked "Install Project" and the program again, I get an error...
