Reediting completed movies

Post by Corel user »

Good Morning Moderators :
It's 7:30 a.m. here on the east coast, and I have a quandary: I wou!ld like to add video filters graphics, and etc.to a completed vacation movie. I haven't found a reference in Corel's PDF file. My attempts yield only a 13 KB file that only opens the Corel program instead of AVCHD file as I expected. I am having quite a few DUH moments with this program.
Any input appreciated!

Hi, I don't understand your trouble.
You do have the complete vacation video or not? are you able to watch it in media player?
13K is surly not it size. unless it was a very very very short vacation....

Hi

and good afternoon Corel user

The file you found appears to be the Project file VSP used to edit the video files.
I assume when Video Studio opened it showed your video clips on the timeline.
The VSP is not a video file but similar to a txt note containing the details of your edits. The clips in the timeline are virtual clips and not actually your video files.

Once you have completed the editing you should create a video file of the project, Using Share there should be the correct options for your output file. That process combines all your edits into one video file.

If you did not finish by creating that file then you should be able to continue your edits adding those missing graphics etc.

Note..right clicking a clip on the timeline select Locate on Computer will find the original video file, hopefully your AVCHD.

it is not only moderators who answer posts - we have many very experienced users who are not moderators or Admins but provide knowledgeable answers to many posts -- - - - - - and unfortunately some who do not give very good answers.

you have not provided much information but from what you have said I am guessing that you just went "File >> Save" and all you now have is a .vsp file - which is a Video Studio Project file - not a video

If you want to output a video then click on the "Share" tab at the centre top of the interface- it will take a few seconds to open then if not already selected then select the top icon from the column down the middle'

then select the format you want to output along with all it's necessary properties - or just select "same as first video clip" at the top just under the word share

also set a name and a save location towards the bottom before clicking 'Start' to create your completed video

Thanks to asik and lata for the input!
I did not realize that the folder 18 would hold the finished product. I was looking in My Projects!
This is a great forum that actually helps this tyro, unlike Corel's support!
