creating a completed video

Post by jaysto »

I have an MPEG 4 video file approximately 2 Gbt in size, I have rendered this file by selecting use first video clip.
I would now like advise on creating a video file that friends will be able to view on their computers.
Also, advise on a good Web file sharing service.
Thank you
jaysto.

They should be able to watch the mp4 that you have created

Cheapest option for sharing - put it up in the cloud - onedrive for instance - in a shared folder.

Hi Jack

And a Happy New Year to you, all the best to Nadine.

Your video at 2 Gb is a little large to be sharing / uploading to the web.
I think Microsoft One Drive (free) has a 2 Gb limit, not sure about Google Drive? but most will be lower.

How long is the video?
What are the properties of the video file, right click a clip and choose properties.
The data rate could be reduced to lower the files size, some reduction in quality, it’s a matter of balance file size to quality.

Or when you Share – Create Video File -same as first clip, copy and paste the details in the properties panel to your post.

Are you still using VS 12?

copying a completed video to DVD discs

Post by jaysto »

Trevor
The finished rendered file is 1.30 Gbs, This has been copied to a DVD-RW it seems now to be a Vob file. I have now decided the best way to distribute the file/ video is to create DVd discs. Can I put the completed disc back on the time line in VS2 and do it that way, or try with some other disc burning software.

Hi Jack

How many discs do you need?

You are best to use the original project to Share create Disc – DVD

From the last window choose to “create a Disc Image” ISO File
Do not burn the disc.

The Disc Image will be saved to the hard drive, You can play the ISO using VLC Player to check quality.

You can burn the ISO to disc using either VS12, I think Tools menu for Disc Image Recorder, or windows also has means to burn ISO to disc, should allow you to burn multiple copies?
Right Click ISO and choose Open With should show Windows Disc Image Recorder
