Photo looks different under Manage and Edit tabs

Post by Jim L »

Hi,
Using PSP7, not including any tech data because its not relevant here. Over a period of time I've noticed when viewing a photo in the Manage tab, then viewing the same photo under the Edit tab, the photo seems to be a little bit "cleaner" under the Edit tab. Additionally, when returning to the Manage tab, the image would appear just like it was under the Edit tab, for less than a second, then the luminance, sparkles (?) or whatever would appear again. This difference was really pronounced today when looking at a marine fog bank shot. Under the Manage tab, it was just filled with noise, but under the Edit tab it was clear. I viewed both at the same 15% zoom. BTW, shooting with a Sony a6000, jpegs, 6000X4000. When viewed using the Windows Photo Viewer the image looks fine, just like under the Edit tab. So there must be something going on under the Manage tab affecting the view that I'm not aware of. Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this bothersome issue.

Have you tried un-ticking Enable Color Management?
File>Color Management>Color Management gets you there.

Hey Joelle,
Thank you very much for your reply. I opened PSP again and looked at the same photo, but for some reason it didn't look as bad as it had earlier. I did try your suggestion to uncheck the Color Management box (which I never would have thought of) but it had no effect. Guess I'll just have to continue to monitor it and next time I'll take a screen shot.
