Text Cutter Tool Won't Work?

I successfully used the text cutter tool in the past, but now it won't work? When it copies the letters to a transparent background, there is only a faint outline of the letter and the inside is also transparent? Is it possible that I changed some other setting that's interfering? I followed the guide and a Corel vid so I know I'm using it correctly.

Is there a "reset" button that will restore all PSP settings to their original form? If so, will that interfere with brushes and plugins I've added?

The text cutter tool uses the physical area of the text (so the visible parts) to create the selection. This is the equivalent of using "Select From Object" "Copy" and "Paste as new Image" really quickly.

So you'll want to check, does your text have a fill? If it doesn't have a fill then only the stroke will be used when creating the cut.

I see what you're saying and I admit to being mystified. Every font I try is 'empty', except for the outline. Yet they're not that way when applied to a Word doc, or any other format. The letters are solid, except for PSP. Why in the world is it doing that? The Shape Cutter tool works fine and the shapes are solid.

Word reads text differently than PSP does. When you copy the text all you're copying is the text and not the way PSP draws the text.

Text has a stroke color (foreground) and a fill color (background). The fill color has to be a solid for this to work. Edit your text, highlight it all, and then on the materials palette make sure you have the background color turned on and are using a solid color.
