Fading Color with VideoStudio 7

I am running CS7 on a maching with 768meg ram, 1.55 gig processor. When transfering from VHS tape get a color 'fade' where color seems to fade slightly then comes back. Has anyone else encountered this and know the cause and fix?

It could be the capture device, or you might be attempting to capture from a Macrovision-protected tape. Without more information, who knows...

I am using ADS DVD Xpress as a capyure device and the tapes are old and not protected. Maybe a setting tweak?

Which program are you capturing with? VideoStudio, CapWiz, or other

ADS Tech has a newer version of CapWiz for the DVD Xpress units -- they have it at their support pages. You can use CapWiz to make your captures, then import the captured videos into VideoStudio.

You said they are old tapes -- do they play back without any problems on your TV, or do you experience ANY problems? If you have one lying around, can you try a different video cable?
