Whenever I start PSP, it comes up minimized. Even though it was maximized when I closed the program it doesn't remember that last state.
Is there a setting I have incorrect?
Thanks!

Your profile doesn't show what version of PSP you are using. Perhaps you should go to your Profile and update it with that info.carl365 wrote:Whenever I start PSP, it comes up minimized. Even though it was maximized when I closed the program it doesn't remember that last state.

That said, did you close the program using the X in the right corner or File>Exit? With some programs the last state will not be remembered if the X is used rather than File>Exit.

...yet with successive various of PSP, and indeed all programs except Skype, I exclusively use the X method, and always get those versions of PSP to open fully maximised. (Skype is the exception since using the X does not quite the program, just in effect minimises it). I can't imagine that different computers and/or operating systems will change that. (Used to run previous versions of PSP on Win 7...)

Re: Open PSP fully maximized.
I agree with you that it shouldn't happen with PSP and doesn't happen for me with PSP. So I can only assume it's something system specific in this case with the OP. I have one program that does not remember the state if the X is used - Pegasus Mail, which is my default email program. It is actually a built-in feature of the program to allow users who usually work in one state but might once in a while want to temporarily change that state to be able to then close the program with the X, and with subsequent uses it will open in the normal state originally saved by the user using the File>Exit option. In other words, File>Exit lets you save the state in which you usually use the program, and when you to temporarily change that state during one use you use the X to close it so that the next time you open the program it will open in your preferred state.Ken Berry wrote:...yet with successive various of PSP, and indeed all programs except Skype, I exclusively use the X method, and always get those versions of PSP to open fully maximised. I actually like that feature because, while I usually use PSP in maximized state, there are times when I have it in the Restore Down state which isn't full screen, and if I then close it with the X it opens the next time in that smaller state, which isn't what I normally wish, and I have to maximize it again. I wish more programs had that option that Pegasus Mail has!

Re: Open PSP fully maximized.
Thank you guys, just as I was about to close with the exit, Windows 10 had a huge update that took more than a hour it seems. Things are running strangely now so I'll report back later.

Re: Open PSP fully maximized.
OK tried closing both ways a number of times using the exit menu and by the X.

Thanks JoeB, and I updated my profile listing which version of PSP I'm using.

Re: Open PSP fully maximized.
Glad it worked, especially as it isn't a built-in feature of PSP (to my knowledge and experience at least) like it is in Pegasus Mail's program. Not sure what's happening with PSP X8 in your case, but at least it seems to be solved for the moment.carl365 wrote:OK tried closing both ways a number of times using the exit menu and by the X.
