Missing EXIF-Metadata Windows 8.1 with PSP X6
Greeting all new to site! Looking for some advice please. I have searched the site and I am still confused on how to resolve this issue. I have missing exif/metadata on PSP X6 on both Raw & jpeg files. This happens randomly and I would say that 10-20% of my files are missing data. It seems that this happens randomly. Oddly I find if I add a " star rating " to the file the data will reappear for some reason... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, Regards, Jim

Re: Missing EXIF-Metadata Windows 8.1 with PSP X6
Update- So through more research it appears that there was a update patch for X7 to address a similar issue. Therefore I am planning on upgrading to X8 Ultimate from X6 Ultimate as Corel responded that they no longer offer support for X6. I currently have X5 also still installed on my PC. Should I completely uninstall X5 before upgrading X6 to X8 or just leave it in my ststem? Olso am I better off ordering the Box/CD version or just do the internet download? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jim

Jim,
As long as you have room on your system there is no technical need to uninstall older versions of PSP unless you want to.
CD Boxed versus download is a personal preference. I typically go with the download but if you do be sure to backup a copy in case you have a need to reinstall at a later date.
Regards,
Kathy

Re: Missing EXIF-Metadata Windows 8.1 with PSP X6
Kathy, Thanks for your reply! This whole missing Metadata/EXIF thing is driving me nuts as ProDPI will not print without an embedded color profile. I use Photo Ninja to process my RAW files and it loses the data when I render back to PSP. Oddly after returning to PSP from Photo Ninja I can assign a "star value" to the image and all of the data comes back except for the color profile... When I use Silky Pix RAW converter all the data including the color profile comes back just fine. I have all the appropriate embedding areas checked so I just can't figure it out urrrrgpppph! I am hoping that the upgrade to X8 will solve the issues. Thanks again! Jim
