Imported .mov files with VideoStudio 18.6.0.6 64bit Ultimate from my m43 camera are jittery and might freeze while the audio still plays.
Note that these same files will play back just fine on any player (Quicktime, FLV, MPC, WMP) I try.
All I did was rename the .mov to .mkv and my problems dissapeared. Smooth playback.
I first tried renaming to .MP4 and it was slightly better but not as smooth as mkv.
I'm curious if others are having this problem or is it my machine.
Video Info:
Video: H264 MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) 1920x1080; 29.97; Planar 4:2:0 YUV full scale
Audio: PCM S16 LE (sowt); Stereo; 48kHz, 16bit
Quicktime 7.7.8 (1680.95.71)
Thanks,
Charlie

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing. I'm guessing a different. more efficient, player is used for .mkv files?

Re: H264 MOV Problems? Try this...
Files with MOV termination are played via QuickTime add-on (qtBridge). That add-on is only a 32 bit one, maybe because of Apple's decision not to provide a better player for Windows. So the 32 bit add-on doesn't seem to play efficiently inside the 64 bit VS.
Since MOV is just an encapsulation format, renaming it to MKV is possible in some cases, depending of the real payload, since MKV is a encapsulation format too. Since here the payload is h264, that's possible. probably MP4 would work too.
When named MKV, a different player is invoked inside the VideoStudio software, with better performance.
