FX duration

Post by girly »

Is there a way to make effects last longer eg mosaic, i want to blur faces but effect doesn't last long. At least 5 mns but could maybe cope with 2-3 mns.

I use vs X8 pro.

Thanks

When you apply an FX to a clip it lasts for the whole duration of the clip - so if you want 5 minutes put it on a 5 minute long clip - but remember that most of the FX are set to change throughout their duration by default - if you want it to stay the same for the whole duration you will need to use the 'customise filter' option to set the end to be the same as the beginning.

Using an FX is propably not the best way to obscure faces - if you use 'track motion' and select the mosaic it will follow the peoples faces all over the screen for as long as they are onscreen

Yes - it is very easy - have a look at this video -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuVKHjbB1HU

but in the module window when gripps selects the square box you need to select the mosaic to the right of it and put that over the face.

Thanks I will look. Also I tried to put a mosaic effect on an overlay picture but even if I change the duration of both picture and overlay the effect doesn't last.

Provided you set the key frame at the end of the FX to match the keyframe at the beginning of the FX then the effect MUST last the length of the clip - there is no cutoff
