vsp file refuses to link

I have a vsp file that contains the opening, intro and closing parts of my videos. I have it saved on a removable hardrive as a vsp file. I start every video with this file and have done 10 videos using it

HOWEVER, today Opening Video studio X8 and opening this to start a new video it tells me it cannot relink a file that it does not exist.

However it clearly does exist

How the heck do I get this to work?

What happens if you double click on the titleclip.VSP file, this should open VS and display the file, if it doesn't, that could indicate that the file has become corrupted

the VS opens up. the music file appears in the music line but the video and title animation are blank and says cannot link does not exist. BUT all the other parts are fine. Like in the file that says titleopeningclosing and the one that says titleanddrone all other portions work it is njust the beginning that says won't link

It's unfortunate that VS does not provide the .ini files with the .vsp files, if it did (like some other NLEs do) you could actually check each component of the file.
If you right click the >vsp file and open with notepad, you might be able to locate the missing content and see if you can locate the path.

You could also try opening a project that contains that opening intro, then delete everything after the intro, then save the intro as a new project, that should get you going again, but if the file is corrupted, then all your previous .vsp projects containing the intro will also require relinking

tried that and the very first segment is blank in all of them so that small bit must have corrupted yes?

Afraid so,looks like you will have to create that intro again, then replace the old intro in each project with the new one, bit of work involved but the only way I can see, maybe one of the mods can offer a suggestion

Just a thought, have you created any Smart Packages of projects containing that intro, if so, you may be able to retrieve it

with one of your earlier projects in the timeline showing missing files - have you tried going to "File >> Relink" which will normally give you the option to link to the files again.

Can you provide an image of the error message.

and can you zip and attach the VSP to your post
