replace clip VS X8 Ultimate
Hi, Is there any way to configure the "replace clip" function to allow me to replace a clip on the timeline with one already in the on-screen library? Maybe drag and drop on top to replace? Choosing "replace clip" always takes me to the image folder deep in the corel directory. Are there configurable options for the "replace clip" function? Thanks.

If you hold down the Ctrl key as well when you drag and drop from the library down on top of the clip in the timeline the existing clip will be replaced - but if it is a video clip it must be of the same duration as the one in the timeline - photos just use the duration of the clip being replaced.

Re: replace clip VS X8 Ultimate
Hi Brian, fantastic. Thanks. In fact, I just noticed that when I grab the clip from the library and drag it to the timeline, there's a note that appears that says just that - "hold control to replace clip." What I also noticed is that I must first grab the clip and drag to the timeline before pressing control. I also noticed that as long as the video clip dragged in is longer than the clip to be replaced it will work, albeit being adjusted to the length of the original clip in the timeline. As always, thanks for your insight and thanks for the promptness of your reply. Rgds, Glenn

Yes you do need to left click to select first - but once you start moving you can then hold down ctrl at any point in the process
