I can't seem to get the fade in and fade out to work with audio. I put the scrubber at the beginning of the sound clip and clicked on fade in but nothing changed. What could I be doing wrong???
When I searched the "help" file, all it said was "To apply fade effects to your audio clips
*
Click the Fade-in and Fade-out buttons".
I hope that didn't take too much time and effort for them to write those in-depth instructions.
Audio Fade in Fade out doesn't work

Re: Audio Fade in Fade out doesn't work
It doesn't matter where the scrubber - or timeline cursor is over the clip - what is important is that the clip is selected - that is has yellow lines all around it
I don't know what your expecting - but the default fade in is only one second and with some audio you may not notice that - go to "Settings >> Preferences >> Edit" and set a longer fade time
change to sound mixer view and you will then see the audio levels - does the clip have an upslope at the beginning - if yes then fade is applied - you could then use "Rubberbanding" to extend the fade in as well

Re: Audio Fade in Fade out doesn't work
Thank you, Brian.
If only Corel would write detailed instructions like that. How would anyone know that the length of the fade would have to be adjusted in the settings. I didn't think of that. The thing that's confusing is that most adjustments are made in the options panel, but this isn't. Maybe they should change that.
For some reason, when I was doing the fade in and out, there was no change at all until I kept playing it back several times. When I finally created the video file, then I saw that the fade worked.
I was also playing around with the sound mixer too after seeing it on a youtube video. I guess what I need to do is insert a practice video into the timeline and play around with different things because the sound mixer, I'm sure among other things is one thing I never experimented with.
Anyway, thanks again for your help!

You can't beat just playing around, I have a project that's called Play and when I've got a bit of free time I call that up and set up all sorts of things that go through my head and just experiment, It's amazing what you come across and learn

Yes - another point that perhaps should have been mentioned before - you must change to 'Project' mode to hear or see any changes to clips in the timeline - - if you play in clip mode the original un-modified clip in your library is played
