How do i do a straight fade?

Instead of all the fancy transition effects, is there a simple way to just have one clip fade into another?

well, reading through the rest of this forum, i guess i found my answer!

why they don't include a simple cross fade in the product, i don't know...

In the Transitions / F/X -- there is a transition called Crossfade
