Paintshop is a nice and affordable product. Easy to use and not a monster like Photoshop.
But for me the biggest problem is the lack of add-ons what makes Photoshop great.
Net is full of great add-ons for Photoshop which do not work on Paintshop because the implementation is only partial.
One example of third-party plug-ins that I would like to use is from ColorPerfect.
Implementing add-ons better would rise Paintshop from middle class photo-editing software to real affordable
competitor to Photoshop.

Re: add-ons
When you say 'add ons', do you mean filters/plugins? If so, you can very easily use many plugins including those photoshop use. There are so many filters out there to use, your world is an oyster!

Re: add-ons
They know that trueblue, but the ones they want to use are Photoshop only. Or at least only work with hosts that have fully implemented the Photoshop plugin system. PSP only supports some of the more basic commands, not all of them. And the number of plugins in continued development that will also support programs like PSP are dwindling.

Re: add-ons
I believe in PSP X7 Corel announced more compatibility with Photoshop plugins- I've not seen that, at least with commercial ones like Nik & Alien Skin. While X8 Ultimate throws in OnOne Perfect Effects 9.5, OnOne website doesn't list PSP for it's newer Effects 10. I still use PSP X6 64 and it won't run any OnOne plugins.
So, those I know about that run on PSP that I use are Redfield and Topaz. I get almost everything I need from them.
Two things that would bring PSP up a level is compatibility with more main commercial plugins, AND the ability to do batch processing with plugins (right now batch processing plugin processed images just locks up the program}.
