MP4 file support with H264 and PCM audio

Hi,

I have problem with adding MP4 files to VideoStudio PRO X8 (trial version, but also in our Customer full version). Only video stream will be added.

Files specs are:

File format: MPEG-4 File

Video type: H.264 High Profile Video, Upper Field First
Total frames: 3 frame(s)
Attributes: 24bits, 1920x1080, 16:9
Frame rate: 25.000 frames/sec
Data rate: 5266 Kbps

Audio Type: None

but Windows shows Audio stream (PCM):

184kb/s, stereo, 48kHz - also sound is heard.

I was trying to install K-Lite Codec Pack and AC3 codec pack without success (Still no audio) and I don't want to reencode my files.
Is there any solution to my problem?

File was encodec using MainConcept MP4 muxer. Adobe Premiere, which uses MC decoders, opens it perfectly.

And welcome to the forums

There have been some issues using MP4 type video files, but to be fair there are many varieties of the video.

As a work-round- setting the audio levels away from 100% to say 99% has foe some allowed the audio to play.

I have to say that audio would play in I think Clip playback and not project playback.

However………

There is a relatively new service pack for X8 ( SP3)

The latest version of video is 18.6.0.6, with all patches applied

Thanks for the sample.
The forum has a limit on file size as I am sure you found out, you are best uploading to a sharing site, One Drive or Google drives work well

I can play the short video and hear sound, using X8.5 fully patched.

I also have no trouble hearing the sound in both Edit and Project mode in my fully updated version of X8.5.

There was no need for you to add the K-Lite codec pack. (L)PCM audio is the absolute bedrock audio standard for video and it should play in both the trial and full versions of X8/X8.5.

For now I'm using X8 version 18.0.1.26 (64bit Pro). I was trying to update to any SP but I'm getting error: "The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate". Our customer got X7 and I've asked him to update and then to try again with this clip.

I will try to update my X8 to X8.5, again.. or somehow force it to install SP...

That is Corels way of telling you that the SP you are trying to install is already installed
VSX8 SP3 will update to VSX8.5 version 18.6.06
