Video Studio Pro X7 not showing all menu template options

Video Studio Pro X7 is only showing 8 menu templates under ALL option when I am in the create disc mode. There are none in the Favorite file. I have looked into the files where these are kept, and found many more. Why isn't the program allowing me to select more template options? Also, where are the favorites stored. If I knew where the favorites are, I could insert files from older versions. Thanks again.

Menu templates only go to the 'Favorites' folder when you have created your own menu templates by modifying one of the supplied ones and saving it - so normally the 'favorites' tab in the authoring module will be empty unles you have done that

The favorites folder is located here C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\17.0\Favorites

inside that will be a number of sub folders for different sizes and types - have a look in
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7\Content\Menu Template where all the menu templates are stored to see the complete folder structure in there

Note that menus consist of three separate files - a .jp - a .ufo and an .ini - if moving templates around you need to move all three together

Have you dwnloaded the Bonus content and additional menus from the 'Do More' sectin of the 'Corel guide' inside VideoStudio

Thanks for your response. I have tried to access the "do More" option, but only get the Corel discovery center, where they are primarily trying to get me to buy X8. I did see something on this forum about the button being somewhere else. If so, I haven't found it yet. Curiously, X5 does access the "Do More" Option. What I have found is that X7 and X5 do not access all of the avaliable templates that are in the C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7\Content\Menu Template directories. When in the menu creation section of the programs, I only see 8 templates available under the ALL tab. There are no other options. So I have two problems: 1. X7 is not accessing the "Do More" option, and 2. Both programs are not accessing the templates that are avaliable. Am I missing something here? I did install all of the Bonus Packs that came with the download. I have also installed Service Pack 1.

The Discovery Centre button is Blue

The Corel Guide/get more content button is Orange

Reading your responses seems to indicate that the program is not fully installed, maybe worth a quick check….

When you purchased the program how large was the installation file VSX7_Ultimate_PF_x64.exe
For a full installation it is about 2 Gb, Corel may provide in two files each about 1 Gb, a Main program file and the second being a Contents file.
How large are your installation files.
I have to say my program only has the one file at 2 Gb

Just to check on your installation, from the main timelines choose the Graphics library, the flower looking icon – library opens showing the Color Pattern – I see 25 entries, if you only see 4 then your program is not fully installed, missing the Contents pack.


Using X7 Share - Disc – DVD opens the burner module.
Add a clip to the timelines – Next – Gallery Tab-
you should see about….
8 in the Smart Scene
10 in the Thumbnail
How many do you see?

If you do not have about 10 Thumbnail menus is your program installed in full.

As Brian says additional Menu Templates can be downloaded from the Corel Guide taking the Thuumbnail menu to 19 templates, two Menu packs are available, one for DVD and the other for AVCHD / Bluray.

I think I found the answer for the template issue. You mentioned going to share/disc/DVD. I did that, and all the templates are there (12 smart scene, 19 thumbnail, and 8 test). If I go to the Blu-Ray disc option, there are only 8 menu templates. I do have only five graphics/color pattern options. I have been assuming that DVD and Blu-Ray templates were the same. They are not.

I can't find any way to get a new download of X7 (Amazon sevice has been discontinued for this program, disc is $25US). Since I found a good deal on X8 (amazon $19.99 US), I have purchased and loaded X8. It has 25 Graphics/Color Patterns, and the same setup for menu templates.

I still cannot access Corel Guide. Pressing the blue button in X7 and X8 takes me here: http://learn.corel.com/video/home?source=vsp. There are no free template downloads here. Maybe there are no Blu-Ray templates available?

Hi

The X7 and X8 library should be very similar.
The graphics should be the same as X8 so you are missing some samples there.

The Blue disc takes you to the Discovery section

You need the Orange disc as Brians image, next to the word Get More

Corel have moved that disc from top right to top middle / left of library.

As for the Menu Templates if you have 19 Thumbnail types you have already downloaded and installed from Do-More

Check X8 before downloading from Do-More

And yes the Avchd Bluray only 12 templates after additional pack DVD has 19

but don't forget Ron all of the menus you have can be changed and customised to you own personal choice and then saved for future use
