SHAKY VIDEO DURING PLAYBACK/ vs x-8

Post by garymn »

Just started to use Corel Video studio X-8. Playback in the viewing screen is shaky. Using Windows 8.1 with AMD A-6 44 M 2.70GHZ processor. Have 4 GHZ of memory. When I play video clips from hard drive excellent results. Using Canon 60d- camera in HD. Do files need to be converted to another format ? If so please explain to a beginner (like me).

Thanks, Gary

Playback in the editor is always a bit shaky for me, and audio does not always sync up.
I find one trick that got me past this: Render out and compare results are what you expect as a trial - to speed up just render out a section of the production.
I upped from 4GB to 8GB and that helped a lot too.

Hi Gary

Use Smart Proxy creates additional proxy files that does help with Project playback, they take a while to create so do not close the program till complete.

Go to Settings – Smart Proxy Enable.

Any HD video you add to the timelines will have proxy files created, for existing files right click and Create Proxy Files.

Keep your eye on the Smart Proxy Queue Manager

Try a few to start with to see if playback improves.
