Hi Guys
We passed on details of 3 similar posts to Corel and received this recent reply.
“Thanks for the issue reporting.
Based on engineering investigation, we found the root cause is the Flash Update from the latest windows update, so far we found windows 8 and 10 have this issue.
We are working on a work-around fix now and will update you once it is done.”
I guess it’s a matter of watch this space.

Hi Guys,
I had contact with support about the problem when I overlapped either video or audio clips, the system stopped. I have uninstalled X8 and installed it again. The problem disappeared. Funny as I didnot have this problem on the same PC with X7, only with X8.

There are a few problems using X8, windows versions may show different problems.
Corel are aware and I assume still working on a fix.
Although one problem stemmed from a windows flash update, that as fa as we know is fixed.
The other issues Instant Projects appear to be SP3 related.
I would advise not to install SP3 for the time being.
I have installed X8 32 Bit without SP3 which seems to work ok.
But good news you have your program working.
