The marketing group I work with now wants me to build a video that has a spinning earth - dots show up where the companys clients are, and then curved arch lines begin to connect all the dots, all this going on while the globe is spinning.
I have no idea how to do this. I think I could get dots to show up and move along the earth, with motion tracking, but how about the arched curved lines connecting the dots?
Is this possible in Corel VideoStudio X7?
any help would be appreciated. I see these kinds of clips for sale, but they wont work, because my group wants only certain cities highlighted.

I'd try to do this with Goggle Earth; I have not done exactly what you want, but close to it using Goggle Earth.

A lot can be done in VS, but do you have the time and money to do so.
Have you used the painting tool? Roto pen?
But for much better look , I think you better commission this clip to be done in 3D animation.

In VideoStudio X8 there is already a flash animation of a rotating globe. It may be possible to modify this to add company information BUT, I guess you would need to add this info frame by frame. If you go into "Do More" in X7 you may find this available as an add on.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

The flash animation Global Earth is in my VSx7 Ultimate but it's not a very good presentation of the land mass, I can recognize what I think is Norway but the British Isles is not there as far as I can see, but could be useful
