ASP2 not showing thumbs

Post by MarkZ »

I haven't visited here for a while, searched for this topic and did not find anything.

ASP 2.3.0.99 will not create thumbs for one of my directories. I select a directory in File System and it shows seven thumbs out of 546 files. I had worked on this folder a couple of months ago and edited a few images and what shows up are some that I edited and others that I had browsed. Yes, I checked, filter is off. In this instance I think when ASP started I clicked on this folder and then moved to a different one while it was working on creating the thumbs. The folder I moved to displays all 900+ thumbs. I had reinstalled ASP2 after some other problems on my computer.

To access these images I imported the folder and ASP created a catalog of all the files there - so I can work on the images from the catalog.

I think this had happened before on a different folder when only a portion of images had been created but eventually all the images showed up.

I'd appreciate any thoughts, comments. One other question: In ASP there was a progress indicator in the lower left corner. Was that done away with in ASP2? I can't find any sign of this facility.

In case you were following this, here is an update.

Among other things, Joseph Lin suggested I make a copy of the folder where the thumbs did not appear and see what ASP does with it.

I made a copy in the same drive as the buggy folder and selected it in File System - all the thumbs were created and showed up in the new folder. I did not do anything else in ASP until the thumb creation had finished. I then selected the buggy folder and now all the thumbs were visible there as well.

I closed ASP, deleted the copy of the folder, opened ASP again and selected the buggy folder again - all the thumbs are still visible. So this seems to have solved the problem. However, I hope Joseph and his team figure out what went wrong in the first place.

As far as I remember, I had renamed the buggy folder and that did not change the problem.
